Vancouver Island Seals announce Assistant Coach Aimee Brucker for the 2026-2027 Season

Aimee started playing hockey when she was 4 years old in Comox Valley, and it has been her passion ever since. Her competitive journey began with the Rep U13 Chiefs, where she played for two consecutive seasons. She then transitioned into female hockey in her first year of U15, serving as captain of the North Island Impact for two years while also affiliating with the Vancouver Island Seals.

In 2016, she moved to the mainland to attend Delta Hockey Academy, joining in their inaugural season. It was an unforgettable year, as they captured both the league title and playoff championship. During the 2016–2017 season, she was honoured to receive the CSSHL Female Varsity MVP award, along with Top Goal Scorer award, leading the league in points.

The following summer, she committed to the University of British Columbia Women’s Hockey Team while pursuing studies in General Arts, allowing her time to explore her academic interests. Currently, she's pursuing Carpentry, which she began her apprenticeship for last year.

This past season marked her 3rd year as Assistant Coach with the Comox Valley Lightning Program. In the program’s inaugural 2022 season, they finished first overall in the league and went on to capture a second banner as playoff champions. It was an incredibly rewarding experience, especially having once celebrated similar successes as a player during her time at DHA.

"Watching the growth of women’s hockey over the years has been truly inspiring. I feel incredibly grateful to give back to the game, especially grateful to be a part of the same programs that helped shape my journey. I’m excited for this next chapter and look forward to the season ahead!" Said Brucker
